Lizard Cohen's latest EP, Chicken Tender Heart, marks her return to music after a ten-year hiatus. Written while spending time in Point Reyes after the passing of a friend, the record drifts through the pollen-hazed listlessness of her twenties, spent between Nashville, Tennessee and Lawrence, Kansas. It's a bittersweet mix of regret, yearning, and unrequited love—wrapped in sugary imagery, sentimental crooning, and bright, buoyant vocals that bring a sense of levity to even its most tender moments.
